Prepared for climate change with blue-green infrastructure

To adapt to climate change, "sponge city" or "blue-green infrastructure" concepts are becoming increasingly important. Recently HOLINGER prepared a potential study on water sensitive settlement development that will contribute to the revision of the Uzwil municipality local area planning. As a strategic planning tool, the study uses GIS-based analyses to identify priority locations with specific implementation options for "sponge city" measures. The possibilities at the regulatory level were also analysed and highlighted.

Our tasks

  • Determining the goals and focal points of the potential study
  • Preparation of the basics in the GIS
  • GIS analysis to identify deficient sites and assess whether they are suitable for sponge city measures
  • Plausibility check based on inspection
  • Action plan with priority sites and roadmap
  • Profile per site with possibilities for sponge city measures
