The VOG wastewater treatment plant is the first in the Canton of Fribourg able to eliminate micropollutants. The chosen process adds doses of powdered activated carbon (PAC) directly to the sand filters. The PAC separation is performed by five two-layer sand filter cells. This fourth stage was commissioned in July 2023. Tests show that the system is reliable and delivers very high purification performance.
