Doubling the capacity under ongoing operation
The Mamer wastewater treatment plant is being expanded and modernised from 23,500 population equivalents (p.e.) to 50,000 p.e. After two years, the construction of the SBR (Sequencing Batch Reactor) is largely complete. The work, which is taking place in a very confined space and during ongoing operations, is proceeding according to plan. The old biological stage will be dismantled to make way for the new sludge treatment as soon as the new SBR is operational. The entire plant is expected to be completed in the fourth quarter of 2025.
