Sports and leisure facilities for schools, clubs and the local population

The Jena Aquatic Centre, a modern swimming facility, was built over a period of three years for the municipal utility company Stadtwerke Jena. The swimming hall has a 50 m eight-lane pool and is certified by the German Sports Association as a 'Category C' pool for official competitions. A movable barrier within the pool allows it to be divided into 16 lanes of 25 m each, allowing very flexible use. There is also a lowerable beginners pool, a children's play area and a diving platform. The pool was opened at the end of August 2023. The total cost of the project was 19 million euros.
