Contemporary solutions – we design them

Humans are increasingly encroaching on the space claimed by water. This requires us to  balance the tension between usage and ecological considerations. We use our know-how to create zones that do justice to various interests.

Bank restoration and widening of the Aare river

Under the leadership of HOLINGER AG, a local recreation hotspot for the city of Bern and the municipality of Köniz is being renovated and upgraded. The AaDä consortium (Kästli Bau AG/Walo Bertschinger AG) is implementing the project planned by HOLINGER AG, which will replace the ageing concrete riverbank structures with contemporary protection made of blocks in combination with various ecological enhancement measures. As part of the bank restoration work, the two paths along the banks will also be widened and renewed to give the local population more space. The video shows the status of the work and the dismantling of the temporary bridge built especially for the construction site. (as of March 2023)
