Münchenstein power plant (BL)

Construction work has been underway on the Birs in Münchenstein since November 2021. The old ‘Neue Welt’ weir was renovated to prevent undermining and to improve the subsoil. A new fish ascent and descent facility is also currently being built. The intensive specialised civil engineering and concrete construction work naturally entails certain emissions.
We are continuing at full throttle so that the construction site can be completed by spring 2025.
